Entry Requirements
We require applicants to have achieved the following as minimum; average points score (APS) of 3.7, a grade 4 in English Language or English Literature and the subject based criteria.
How to Calculate APS
To work out your APS, add together all the points for your grades (remember that Double Science counts as two subjects). Then divide by the number of subjects. BTEC subjects counts as; a pass = 4, a merit = 5.5 and a distinction = 7.
Please note that we expect a minimum of 8 GCSEs (or equivalent) to be used in this calculation. To find your APS where fewer qualifications have been sat the total point score should be divided by 8.
On your application, you need to do this calculation using your Year 11 predicted grades in order to help you begin to decide the right level of course.
